Alexander Central High School was a recipient of the education-based athletics grant for the 2020-2021 school year. Completed in December of 2021, grant funds were directly used to help purchase new rubberized drop-proof flooring for the ACHS weight room. The implementation of new flooring eradicated safety hazards and allowed for larger training capacities. The material of the floor creates natural shock absorption for plyometrics and Olympic lift training thus reducing the risk of joint or ligament injuries in student-athletes. The weight room renovation is still ongoing, and ACHS plans to continue to expand and update its facility to give its student-athletes the best experiences possible.
